With water temps dropping all over the northern hemisphere, Eric Geiselman knows it’s time to pull out the big boards and the full suits. Well maybe not quite time for the big boards, but Geisels tackles small waves with the best of them.
It’s our 50th New Music Tuesday Anniversary! Did you get us anything?
Bobby and the boys over at Burger Records put out a tribute tape of VU’s White Light/White Heat, so you could get us that. The cassette is jammed with our favorite bands like Natural Child, The Memories, and Gap Dream. But the stand out track has to be Curtis Harding’s blistering version of “Here She Comes Now.”
Stream the cassette here and make sure to pick up a copy …….for us.
Micah Green and Jimmy Riha give you some tips on how to stay on your board and smash through it!
Our brother from Puerto Rico, Alexis Rivera, has been presented with a truly massive challenge. Alexis was diagnosed with cancer last month, at the young age of 25, and needs all of our help. Please read the passage below from his good friend Pedro Huck Rosa and contribute whatever you can.
Remember how lucky we all really are during this holiday season… donate here: http://www.gofundme.com/5jxgn4
“Alexis Rivera is a 25 years young skateboarder, videographer and photographer from beautiful Puerto Rico who is known around the world for his gifted athletic talents, his unique perspective behind the lens but way more for his big heart and humbleness, qualities which make him one of the most positive and hard working human beings you can meet.
In October, during a recent trip to the United States in which he was working to bring exposure to a group of Puerto Rican children competing on a major skate contest that took place in Florida, Alexis started to experience much pain and swelling in his groin area. As soon as he came back to Puerto Rico, he checked in to the hospital and had to undergo an emergency operation to remove what seemed to be a tumor. Two weeks later when the tumor biopsy results came in, Alexis was diagnosed with cancer, which originated in his testicular area and has now spread towards his abdomen.
Previous to his soon to start chemo treatment, Alexis had to undergo various studies which weren’t covered by his health insurance. As of now, Alexis is slated to begin his chemotherapy sessions this friday December 6th. His oncologist is very optimistic of his recovery due to Alexis’ athletic condition and his high spirit and will to overcome his illness. This has been a rough couple of months for him, his family and friends. This page was created to raise funds towards life expenses that he and his family will incur throughout this long journey ahead. Please feel free to contribute whatever you can, help spread awareness and support during this tough time. Anything will be appreciated! With your help, we can help chip away at the costs of Alexis’ growing medical bills and also help his family cover basic costs to take care of him, including his recovery, their transportation for visits to the hospital and assistance to cover living costs. We are also asking as we get together with our families and loved ones this Holiday Season, please keep Alexis and his family in your thoughts and prayers throughout Alexis’ quest to Fight Cancer!
Alexis would like to thank his family, his friends, sponsors and all the people who support his skateboarding for all the love and support they have shown him through all his career.
Peace, light and many blessings, everyone!”

It takes a band like Fuzz, and a town like San Francisco to throw Ty Segall a real birthday party. Well, it is his band and his town. When you add Castle Face Records recording live to document the jam, the party goes sonic. The heavy stoner-blues of Fuzz is total psych-sludge worship with Ty slamming the drums and hollering his trade mark vocals. Happy Birthday Ty.
This is not a part where she falls a lot, in fact she sticks some killer lines. Fall 2013 saw Evelyn Abad ripping her hometown parks, now we get to see too.
