Once in a while we hear about amazing causes around the world, and Beyond The Surface International is one of the raddest. This group of board riding advocates travel to lesser fortunate parts of the world and use surfing and skateboarding as a medium to motivate and educate young minds. The video below was filmed and directed by 3 brothers from Lobitos, Peru, and they even made the music. The next project for them and BTSI is to build a skatepark in Lobitos. Support this and other projects here: http://www.beyondthesurfaceinternational.org/
A new take on the Gullwing Sidewinder Trucks has them whipping and carving under the newest additions to the Sector 9 Mini Series. The Barra Soap and Skatepark are helping to translate a surf style turn onto pavement. The bottom line is... these boards are fun!
The Redbull Steep Crest quietly went off last week in San Francisco as a test event for future contests. We were hyped to have the Downhill Division's Louis Pilloni, Chance Gaul, and Ross Druckrey invited to compete. Watch from the eyes of Louis Pilloni as he claims 2nd place in the downhill race.
You've seen Gullwing Truck Co.'s 3-part video series, Keeping It Local, well now they've released the full length version for your viewing pleasure. Follow along on this Southern California roadtrip with Sector 9 team riders Micah Green, Daniel Luna, Tibs Parise, and Fabian Gutierrez.
No graham crackers and chocolate needed here. Just skewer the 61mm Marshmallows on to your favorite set of trucks and unleash their sugary goodness on the concrete world. The 78a durometer and pure white urethane give these wheels a smooth roll and slide as you melt them on the asphalt. Watch 12 year old ripper, Cole Trotta, toast his set out in the San Diego hill country.
The Downhill Division was recently in the Pacific Northwest for the 6th Annual Cathlamet Downhill Corral. Before the skateboard festival, the crew meet up with Daddies Board Shop at Mt. Tabor for a demo day of the new Sector 9 lineup. Team riders A.J. Haiby, Chance Gaul, Jake Wilkinson, Georgia Bontorin, Harrison DePass, Louis Pilloni, and Tibs Parise grabbed a variety of setups and rallied the closed road with the locals.
