The 5th Annual California Roots Music & Arts Festival has come and gone but the memories and good times will live on. Bob your head to the campsite jams of KBong and friends while taking a look at the festival through the eyes of the 9. A special thanks to all of the bands and musicians, the organizers, the fans, and everyone who rode their skateboard or bike to the festival. See you all next year and don't forget to check out the photos from our festival lensman Tucker Hall here: https://www.facebook.com/tucker.hall.98/media_set?set=a.10203206545995992.1073741825.1578600365

Ex-Cult has spent the last year smashing their songs into every club they could. Seemingly perfecting their mixture of psych rock low end, post punk guitars, and a hectic vocal story line. Their first single “Midnight Passenger” is a dark look into what will be a scary good release on Goner Records come April.

If Gabriel Fulvimar’s first Gap Dream LP was Ohio bedroom psych rock, then his second full length, Shine Your Light, is definitely more California dreamy loner pop. You see, Gabe moved out from the Midwest straight to Southern California’s Burger Records. Literally, he lives in a record store. The record reflects the changes in atmosphere, and the heavy synth sounds add layers to his new groovy stories. Welcome to California Gabe, we’re glad you’re here. Now find an apartment.

There is only one way to open our latest Griptape//Mixtape, and that’s with New York’s king of cool, the late Lou Reed. From there we lead you down an eclectic street of new music with jams by Nobunny, our new crush, Queen Kwong, and San Diego’s own Earthless. As Lou said, take a walk on the wild side, so we did.
